On August 20, 2026, the Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health of Region VI issued Official Letter No. 406/CNTYV6-TH guiding the transfer of authority to process food safety inspection registration dossiers for imported animal-origin products used as food.
Below are the key points to note:
1. Effective date:
From September 1, 2026, the new regulations under Circular No. 22/2026/TT-BNNPT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will apply.
2. Change in inspection authority:
The state inspection agency for food safety of imported animal-origin products, under both normal inspection and strict inspection methods, will be assigned or designated by the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
3. Dossier-receiving agencies in the 5 provinces/cities of Region VI:
- Ho Chi Minh City: Department of Food Safety
- Tay Ninh Province: Department of Agriculture and Rural Development
- Dong Nai Province: Department of Agriculture and Rural Development
- Dong Thap Province: Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health
- Lam Dong Province: Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health
4. Support for resolving difficulties
